Springfield Man Arrested on Florida Molestation Charges PDF Print E-mail

On February 4, 2010 Clark County Sheriff’s Detectives received information from the Fugitive Unit of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office in Vero Beach, Florida pertaining to a wanted subject that was supposedly in the Clark County/Springfield area.  According to the information, Florida authorities had issued an arrest warrant and were actively seeking David Richard Gabbert (49 Years of Age) for charges relating to the molestation of a juvenile victim in their state.

Upon receiving the complaint, sheriff’s detectives made contact with the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team “SOFAST” and began working on locating the suspect.  The SOFAST Task Force is made up of Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Officers throughout the area and includes members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Division.

On Friday, February 5, 2010, at approximately 0735 hours, the U.S. Marshal’s SOFAST Task Force located David Richard Gabbert at a residence at 2748 Dorothy Lane in Springfield.  Gabbert was arrested for the outstanding warrant from Florida as well as for local traffic warrants; he was transported to the Clark County Jail.  Gabbert is scheduled to appear on the Clark County Municipal Court on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
